Passionate about exploring the mechanism of a living cell, Dr. Duong focused her undergraduate years doing research.  She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Houston in 2012. Fascinated how scientific discoveries from cutting-edge research could be applied to improve clinical care, she decided to become a clinician-scientist.

Completing dual-degree DDS/PhD training at the University of California, San Francisco in 2021, she now is a postdoctoral scholar at UCSF with a research focus on understanding how genetic factors affect teeth enamel development, bone formation and healing. Her clinical focus is minimally invasive aesthetic dentistry. 

In her free time, Dr. Duong is an avid athlete and foodie. She loves hiking, running, and camping.  She is the happy mother to two sons.
